Thanksgiving is my absolute favorite holiday. For my family, it is a time of to go home. Everyone that is able is called back to the little Strasburg Union Church where we will feast on the fabulous fare that has become traditional with an American Thanksgiving. There will be 60 or 70 of us. I think my Aunt Allie Jo will be the oldest (nearly 90) and Makayla (not yet 1) will be the youngest. We will miss a few who have been resurrected since last we met, but we will be Thankful both for those who are present and for those who are now a part of that "Great Cloud of Witnesses" that are just beyond our human ability to see, but who rest and rejoice in the presence of our Creator and our God.
Thanksgiving is a time just to be thoughtful of all of God's goodness that surrounds us. That is more than material possession. It is even more than the love of family and friends. It is all of the promises of God in Christ Jesus. The knowledge that in spite of any present day difficulties, we are children of the King and all of the promises of God are ours for all of eternity. We should be thankful simply because God is God and his love endures forever.
If you are traveling during this Thanksgiving season, I pray for safe travel. If you are home this Thanksgiving season, I pray that you will enjoy God's Holy Spirit found in this time of Thanks. And for each of you I pray that God will reveal himself in a sacred and holy way that will cause you to catch your breath and marvel and how wonderful he is.

Happy Thanksgiving, Pastor & Patty! I’m thankful for being able to worship with the Body of Christ no matter the city we wake up in on Sunday morning. I’m especially thankful for our church family at Faith. "I’m so glad I’m a part of the Family of God!"
